"ROLES AND FUNCTIONS OF AN EDUCATIONAL MEDIA CENTER"



E-learning as of today are rapidly growth due the implication of the DepED especially in elementary level. It is implemented for the student to have fun of learning and helps to bring the replica of the real situation through the use of media. The EMC facilitates our job and ready to help when teachers don't have the confident in using laptop or other instructional materials.We need to find a media specialist and technician if there's problem arises. That's why every school must have media specialists.They play a major role in maintaining, caring and promote the effective use of educational media for the teachers to have an effective teaching in a classroom.

"ASSESSMENT IN A CONSTRUCTIVIST TECHNOLOGY- SUPPORTED LEARNING"




Assessment means analyzing and describing student's progress and achievement;in a constructivist way not merely knowledge. Authentic assessment is one of the constructivist used in a classroom especially in rating the output of the student. So, it needs rubric to facilitate scoring.
In application to the technology subject,it is not merely memorizing the parts but an integration of the skills that could enhance their ability. Example, teacher first introduce the parts then let have a hand-on-minds-on activity. There is a combination of a traditional and authentic assessment.

"USING THE PROJECT-BASED LEARNING MULTIMEDIA AS A TEACHING-LEARNING STRATEGY"


One of the difficult tasks in teaching is the implementing of projects as a teaching learning strategy. The design tasks depends on what a teacher desires to observe as outputs of the students. We have a lot to consider.
1.complexity- the level of complexity of the projects need to be within the range of the ability of the students

2.appeal- be interesting to encourage the students to complete the tasks

3.creativity- must exercise creativity and divergent thinking

4.goal-based -must attain the learning objectives

Preplanning must emphasize, introduce the tasks,inform the guidelines and provide the steps.Using the strategy enable the students to remember and understand better as they perform the real-world tasks.

"PROJECT-BASED LEARNING AND MULTIMEDIA: WHAT IT IS"


Students work collaboratively to come with a project that could be presented in a multimedia such as a power point presentation.It employs skills and elicit cooperation at the same time learning.
It is useful in a high school students because they will seek for a more abstract project as they grew older.They are not only learning in academe but it will enhance their skills for preparation in the future. It is indeed an innovative learning that emphasizes the total development of a child to be a complete person. So, it's a great tasks for a teacher to think for a good project that must be on a goal-based.

"Maximizing the Use of the Overhead Projector and the Chalkboard"
The Chalkboard is indeed a very traditional but a helpful instructional equipment when technology is not present in the remote areas. It is most common in public schools especially those far from the city. Teachers shall be guided that in writing,don't turn your back to your class,write side view as you talk and write clearly and eligibly on the board.
The OHP is a prepared transparencies that can be reusable. Thus, maintains eye contact to the students.

"Pictures worth a thousand words" A person who can sees visual symbols create varied thoughts that can elevate their level of thinking. Thus, enhancing their higher order thinking skills in such a way they can construct words through pictures. Teaching with visuwl symbols enable the students to understand easily the topic, express their ideas and creative minds.

Drawing- concrete visual aid that represents the real thing


Cartoons- the message conveys through symbols that needs no caption

Strip drawings- serves as a motivation to the learners that student express insights from the topic and entertaining at the same time

Diagrams- any line that shows arrangement and relations as of part of a whole
